I killed 2 front tires over the track season last year, so I picked up 2 new Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and had Paddock Imports in Denver do the mount/balance and alignment. They are my indy mechanic, and have been going to them for a couple of years. I have always been impressed with their phenomenal work, great attitude, and honesty.
This year, I reached out to them to try an intellectual barter; I offered them help with their social media, while they allow me to learn mechanical stuff and repair in their shop. We've just started, but I head over there for half a day on Fridays.
If you live in Denver, head over to Doug's, and tell him Steve sent ya.

You dont have a square tire setup?

Negative, I have 235/ZR40/18 up front and 265/ZR35/18 out back. It's staggered from stock.

Sorry, gorgeous car!
Low costs of consumables are about the only comeback I have when shooting the shit with BMW guys at track days! (I drive an FR-S)
You go with something a bit more aggressive (alignment wise) to even out track tire wear? Or was it more of a "back to where factory should be" type of setup?

The FR-S has a TON of potential! Since I killed the tires in less than a year with a little agressive alignment, -2.5 camber, I went back to stock settings, around -1.2 camber. We'll see if the tires survive longer. She's tracking true now, and rolling nice.

I love it, my little hardtop miata.
And that's funny, it was the exact opposite on the FR-S, I was getting uneven wear on the outside edges until I went to a bit over -3, now its perfectly even. Thought this season I might back camber off a bit and give it some toe out for better turn in.

If it's anything like an E46 M3 the camber is fixed, and can only be adjusted if you have camber plates. I would guess he just had the toe set.
